Wired or Wireless CCTV?
Which is best?
Wired CCTV systems
have been around for decades and have not changed much in terms of wiring infrastructure, although CCTV cameras and recording technology have come on a long way. Wired CCTV systems work and they are reliable, there is no battery to change or charge up and you don't have to worry about weak WiFi signals to the cameras. Wired CCTV systems consist of a CCTV recorder (NVR or DVR), and the cameras. Each camera is typically wired individually back to the recorder.
Your main concern regarding a wired CCTV system may be the wiring, but done professionally, wired can be concealed and out of sight. We as a company pay particular attention to wiring. on 99% of our jobs, there is not a wire in sight.
Wireless CCTV systems
have become more common in recent years but are they any good? We try not to install wired CCTV systems as these types of systems fall into the DIY category. Wireless systems tend to come with basic features and can be unreliable. Our main goal is to provide the best level of security for our customers and we don't think wireless surveillance meets that criteria.
To power wireless CCTV system, you either have to charge the battery up every so often of you have to run power to the camera.
If you need more than 1 CCTV camera, then go for a wired system, A multi camera wired CCTV system will be cheaper, will have better performance and will be more reliable.
If you need just the 1 cameras then it may be cheaper to go for a wireless camera.

Popular CCTV Questions
Do I Need a Monitor?
You do not need a monitor for your CCTV system as everything can be done from your phone or tablet including live view, playback, alerts and you can also send recordings by email, text or to social media from your phone.
How Long Does a Security Camera System Installation Take?
Typically 1 day for a 4 to 8 camera CCTV system but installs can take longer if there are extensive or difficult cable runs.
How Long does the CCTV System Record for?
An average CCTV system will record for 15 to 30 days but this can be extended by adding more hard drive space or by configuring the cameras to record on motion detection.
What Happens when the Hard Drive is Full?
Lets say your CCTV system records for 30 days. You will always have the last 30 days of recording. The CCTV system overtires the furthest day away to allow for new recording space.

Which CCTV Cameras are Best for your Home?
So you thinking about having surveillance cameras fitted at your home but your not quite sure what cameras to install.
Firstly, your reason for wanting CCTV will be a good guide for the camera and system to use.
Security cameras differ in specification and have different functions.
Lets say you need CCTV to protect a gate that is 50 meters away.
You would need to think about fitting a camera with an adjustable lens for 50 meters night vision. You can focus into an area further away with an adjustable lens.
Lets say you need CCTV to protect your tool shed in your garden and you want to receive notifications.
Modern security cameras now come with great analytics, which are great for motion detection and false alarm reduction. A camera with person detection functions would be suitable in this instance.

Get Instant Alarts with Detection CCTV
The camera has a built-in PIR detector that captures infrared light given off by human bodies and distinguishes it from other visual “noise.” It can be equipped with Hikvision’s Turbo HD K series DVR’s motion detection to filter false alarms caused by moving targets without human body IR emission. This way, filtering false alarms reduces storage space and costs, and it also means more efficient post-event footage search.
In addition, the camera features a strong and immediate deterrent by producing a flashing white strobe light that serves as a warning signal to stop intruders. And with ultra low-light technology, the white light serves as supplemental lighting, enabling the camera to capture clear images of suspects as evidence when the alarm is triggered, even in extremely dark environments. A security camera system that offers great protection.
The homeowner is away from home and a passerby takes a liking to a piece of furniture in your garden. The passerby decides that they would like to steal the furniture and they make their way in through the garden gate.
(The CCTV system has a set boundary which protects the garden).
The moment the passerby steps into the protected boundary, the PIR camera instantly flashes its warning light. At the same time a notification is sent to the homeowner. The passerby looks up to the camera when the warning light catches their eye, before quickly leaving empty handed
The homeowner still has their garden furniture as well as excellent HD facial evidence.
A great deterrent with outstanding evidence.
More about PIR Cameras
Unlike conventional cameras that can only serve the monitoring purpose, a PIR camera, by virtue of the built-in PIR sensor, detects passive infrared radiation emitted from heat sources. This function then further supports deterrence measures enabled by whether connecting to external alarm devices or built-in components, for example a siren or light.
We offer a wide selection of PIR cameras ranging from 2 MP to 5 MP, available in both bullet and dome forms. These cameras not only detect, but also help deter would-be intruders by triggering visual or audio alarms. With up to a 11-meter detection distance, the PIR camera covers sufficient areas no matter you need it for an open space, for example a warehouse, or a confined area like the entrance of a store.
Together with the DVR’s Motion Detection feature, the PIR solution helps to provide timely intrusion detection, immediate response, clear evidence, as well as accurate alarms for security system. PIR cameras are your ideal choice for application scenarios such as home, office, warehouse, small business, and more.

Deter Criminal Activity with a Security Camera System
This is the biggest and most recognised benefit for those who choose to add CCTV systems to their property. Outside of being able to monitor your premises, CCTV cameras are an excellent deterrent for burglars.
Just like seeing a mounted alarm system, an intruder seeing security cameras may decide that it’s easier and safer to move elsewhere. It’s much better to prevent intrusion than dealing with it after it’s occurred.
Why a professional CCTV installation?
You may be planning to purchase a CCTV system online and are going to install the system yourself but you need to take some things into consideration.
Are the CCTV cameras suitable for your property?
Do you get a warranty?
Are the security cameras good enough to capture crucial evidence day and night?
Is your CCTV installation good enough to last all weathers?
And most importantly, Does your new CCTV camera system comply with the GDPR laws?

ColorVu CCTV Cameras
Our customers have taken a liking to ColorVu CCTV cameras and this is currently the product we install the most of. In a nutshell ColourVu CCTV gives you colour CCTV at night.
In a bit more detail
ColorVu Cameras’ powerful ability to capture details in low lighting comes from two specific breakthroughs in hardware technologies: advanced lenses and high-sensitivity sensors. In contrast to conventional lenses, ColorVu lenses are equipped with a super-aperture, reaching up to F1.0, which allows more light to enter the lens so that imaging brightness can be increased.
ColorVu Camera lenses also feature Broad-Band Anti-Reflection (BBAR) Coating and Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) Optical glass, to reduce light flare and efficiently reproduce an image’s sharpness and colour saturation. These technologies effectively overcome the kind of key information that gets blocked by a light flare.
The ColorVu Cameras’ high-sensitivity is designed for surveillance applications where high resolution colour images are required even in ultra-low light environments. ColorVu Cameras sensors demonstrate an extraordinary photovoltaic conversion efficiency. They employ an advanced sensor technology – a new light-collection structure that vastly improves the utilisation of light. Tests show ColorVu cameras continually provide colourful, sharp images right down to the lowest light levels. At the same time, their self-adapting 3D DNR algorithm on ISP guarantees high imaging quality.
In addition, extreme light conditions are taken into consideration in the design process. ColorVu cameras are equipped with warm supplemental light, so when there is no light source whatsoever – even starlight or street lights – they can guarantee colourful imaging. This feature provides environmentally-friendly, soft, warm lighting, reducing any harsh discoloration of the object being illuminated.
As a result, ColorVu Cameras provide bright colour video images 24/7 in low illumination conditions. They excel at capturing vivid chromatic images in a multitude of application scenarios, such as public places with no lighting, night security at industrial parks, traffic intersections in low light environments, and many more – everywhere colour information is particularly important.
As an example, in general, license plate information of a suspect’s vehicle is crucial in traffic accident investigation. However, when the vehicle is non-licensed or the license plate is deliberately obscured, the vehicle can only be investigated by its features – brand, model, and especially the colour. So, though external lighting conditions are poor, even completely dark, ColorVu Cameras still capture valuable colour information.
Advanced Motion Detection
A sense of safety is one of the most basic human needs, personal and property safety are integrated into that sentiment as well. And this is exactly why people install security systems in their homes and businesses.
Compared to conventional sensor-based alarm systems, a surveillance system that utilizes cameras has several advantages: the ability to watch events in real-time, obtaining key data around those events, and providing solid and accurate evidence for law enforcement. By adding a touch of intelligence to security cameras and video recorders, AcuSense technology makes these products your perfect choices for an accessible and intelligent security system!
What is AcuSense?
As its name implies, AcuSense Technology provides accurate sensing in security hardware. Empowered by deep learning algorithms, AcuSense technology distinguishes people and vehicles from other moving objects.
Alarms for Humans and Vehicles
Users can focus on alarms triggered by humans and vehicles while false alarms triggered by small animals or other irrelevant objects are vastly reduced.
Visual and Auditory Warning
On-site response and deterrence methods using visual and customisation auditory warnings add another layer of protection.
Search Targets Quickly by Type
Video clips are sorted by human and vehicle categories, and object classification vastly improves search efficiency.
For most security events, you will search for video clips that captured human or vehicle activities. With AcuSense devices, this gets easier.
Video clips are already sorted into the “Human Files” and “Vehicle Files.” Just simply click one of these categories and use time or location data to quickly locate the clip that you want. Compared to the conventional method which displays all video files at once, AcuSense makes searching more efficient.
