BFT Electric Gate Installation, Servicing and Repairs in East Sussex

Electric gates add security, privacy and everyday convenience to homes and businesses, but only when they are installed properly and looked after. GA Technical installs, maintains, services and repairs BFT electric gate automation across East Sussex, keeping your gates safe, reliable and working the way they should.

Why we recommend BFT
BFT has been making gate automation in Italy since 1981 and is one of the best-known names in the industry. Its range covers almost every gate we come across, from a single driveway gate to heavy commercial entrances, which means we can match the right motor to your gate rather than making one product fit everything.
Gate type | BFT options we can fit |
Swing gates (above ground) | Electromechanical rams such as Phobos and Kustos, or articulated-arm operators such as Virgo where the hinge position needs it |
Swing gates (heavy use) | Hydraulic operators such as Lux and Giuno for larger gates and frequent use |
Swing gates (hidden) | Underground operators such as Sub and Eli, buried beneath the gate for a clean, discreet look |
Sliding gates | Deimos for homes, up to heavy-duty sliding operators for large commercial gates |
Controls and safety | Remote controls, keypads, photocells, safety edges, warning lights and battery backup |
Electric gate installation
Every installation starts with a site survey. We look at the size and weight of your gates, the hinge positions, how far they need to open, the slope of your driveway and how often the gates will be used. From there we recommend the right BFT system and fit it with the safety devices it needs.
New automation for existing manual gates, or as part of a new gate project.
Safety first: photocells, safety edges and force settings set up and tested so the gate stops and reverses if anything is in its way.
Access control your way: remote controls, keypads and push buttons for family, staff or deliveries.
Full handover: we show you how everything works, including how to release the gate manually in a power cut.
Maintenance and servicing
Powered gates are machinery, and like any machine they need regular care to stay safe. Most gates benefit from a service every six to twelve months, depending on how often they are used. A typical GA Technical service includes:
Checking and adjusting motor force and obstacle detection
Testing photocells, safety edges and warning lights
Inspecting hinges, rollers, tracks and gate alignment
Lubricating moving parts and checking for wear
Testing remote controls, keypads and backup batteries
Checking the manual release works smoothly
Inspecting underground motor boxes for water and drainage problems
Recording what we found and anything that needs attention
A small fault found at a service is far cheaper than a breakdown that leaves your gates stuck open or shut.
BFT gate repairs
If your BFT gates have stopped working, we can diagnose and fix the problem. Common faults we repair include:
Gates that will not open or close
Gates that stop halfway or keep reversing
Remotes or keypads that have stopped responding
Noisy, slow or struggling motors
Faulty photocells, safety edges or limit switches
Control board faults, including after a power surge or lightning
Water damage to underground motors
Damage caused by vehicle impact or storms
We source genuine BFT spare parts, and where an old system is beyond economical repair we will talk you through upgrade options honestly.
